PHYSCODELIC!
This place has been a favorite for most people of North County San Diego since I can remember. In 1960, I walked to kindergarten about six blocks each day and passed by the Cafe 101 daily; sometimes I would stop and get ice cream…its still just like I remember it…the 50′s style juke box, leather covered booths, blue plate specials, and the nostalgia that only a real mom n pop diner can offer. They have down home cooking featured and it is excellent. The folks that work there take time to get to know you which is not like most places. The biggest changes were the great funky murals added a few years ago, which makes it easy to spot when you are cruising PCH 101 (Pacific Coast Highway, which was formerly known-for a while-as Hill ST) The local car clubs meet here and many beachgoers and tourists find Cafe 101, but we just go there because its memories worth keeping alive (and the food is great!) See ya there!
